Devlog - June 2021

Development Team Updates

Two artists and one writer has joined us this month! I never thought this project would have gained this much attention, but here we are!

Yume will be writing for Yusuke and Ann's Sun routes!

Akira will be working on redrawing Akira/Ren's sprites and possibly making some CGs!
You can find her on on Twitter under @akirafanarts or Tumblr under akirafanarts.

Mo will be working on enhancing Yusuke's sprites and creating some CGs!
You can find her on Instagram under Momyart_h.

We are still recruiting writers, although currently we're only accepting writers who are able to code their own scripts into RenPy!

You can find our recruitment post here!

Game Progress Updates

  • I was actually working on a "Gallery" / "Trophies" screen this month, but I'm not really satisfied with what I managed to implement so far. What I had in mind sounded good, but when I saw it on screen it looked kind of awkward and wonky. So I won't be sharing about it too much here, and instead I'll try to brainstorm more to see if there are other ideas that might fit better.
  • 'On call' indicator. I haven't found any ways to have the sprites render inside the box just like in the original game, and I'd rather not spend time to re-code the existing sprites or having to edit the original sprites, so this is good enough for me!

  • Little tweaks here and there - shadows on all sprites, converted the time in the UI to English words, etc.
  • I managed to do quite lot of scripting this sprint! This process takes so much time and can get pretty painful, but slow and steady eventually will reach the finish line anyway. So far, there are about 30,000 words scripted in. Considering the average reading speed of most adults is about 250 wpm, that probably totals up to 120 minutes if it was a normal novel? Maybe? Idk, but I'm still proud of us!  👏🏻

Exciting to hear the news about your newest members, congrats. And it's relieving to see that you're still active too! Not that you've taken a long time or anything of the sort, it's just that fanworks can be finicky sometimes; I crossed my fingers for this project to live and I'm glad to see that it is. Good luck with the work everybody!

Oh gosh I didn't even see the notification for this comment! Thank you for the encouragements and checking out the project's progress! I totally understand the sentiment, with fanworks a lot of project goes unfinished and it's always unfortunate I guess :c
