I had the same problem! To fix it just go to system preferences, go to security and privacy, and at the bottom of the box it should say the developer can't be trusted. Next to it should be a button that says open anyways. Click that and it should work! It worked for me!

Did you hit the 'hey do you wanna pay for this game maybe' pop up? If so, you can locate a grey underlined word where it says something along the line of 'No thanks, just let me download the game', and it should start the download! Also make sure you didn't block the pop up for download!

I can't play it T-T. I have the Mac and it keeps telling me the developer can't be trusted or verified! So saaaaad!
